Jack Daniel’s, that venerable institution renowned for its Tennessee whisky, has launched a limited edition (1 L) bottle to celebrate the pair of gold medals awarded in 1914 and 1915. The first year, Jack Daniel’s was rewarded for its unique charcoal-mellowing process at the Anglo-American Exhibition in London, celebrating 100 years of peace between England and the United States of America. The second medal was awarded by the London Institute of Hygiene the following year.
This limited edition comes in a black and gold presentation pack and includes two tumblers commemorating the medals won in 1914 and 1915. The nose of Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 is gentle vanilla and caramel, with a hint of smoke. On the palate, you’ll savour oak, with notes of caramel, coffee and red apple. The finish is complex and smoky, with hints of sweet vanilla and caramel, another good reason to enjoy it slowly.
