Honestly, this wine has all the reasons for pleasing. Rusden Wines, an Australian winemaker from the Barossa Ranges, which produces this country’s most popular wines, made a fair bet with its Black Guts 2010 Shiraz. Priced at $85 for a 750 ml bottle, you are getting your money’s worth.
This is a full-bodied red garnet wine, tinged with slight purple hues. It has an elevated acidity, and features a fruit compote flavour with aromas of cassis, blueberry, herbs, black pepper, and smoked meat.
We recommend pairing the 2010 Rusden Black Guts with tasty dishes such as a rack of lamb roasted with cocoa sauce, filet mignon skewers with herbs, duck breast accompanied by a port sauce, or a simple red meat burger topped with a homemade mayonnaise.
Feel free to age it. It will flourish for many years.
