Running his hands over the rough bark of the maple, he casts his gaze upwards, right to the top. This tree is perfect, he thinks. This raw material is of the highest quality, and no matter what it is used for, the result will be noteworthy.
"With his fingertips, Paul can almost taste the culinary creations and hear the staccato sounds of knives, letting himself be carried away by the inspirations of chefs to come."
Laying down his axe, Paul discovers the warmth emanating from the wood and the beauty of its perfect concentric circles, radiant like the sun. Closing his eyes, be breathes in the unmistakable scent of the sap.
A glorious future awaits this perfectly coloured piece of wood. Will the maple become a wardrobe, a chest, or perhaps a butcher’s block cutting board? With his fingertips, Paul can almost taste the culinary creations and hear the staccato sounds of knives, letting himself be carried away by the inspirations of chefs to come.
Even if Paul is unaware of the fate of the tree as he leaves the forest, he hopes it will find itself in good hands. And that, in fact, is the case. The artisans who will undertake the transformation of his tree are as devoted and dedicated as he is.
Without knowing it, this special tree will give life to numerous other products and as for Paul, he will ensure the health and well-being of the forest. 10 trees are planted for each maple that is cut down. And this is how an extraordinary story begins... À Hauteur d’homme.
