It’s intimidating, it’s angry and it’s loud. The SRT Viper is back. The sinister looking American sports coupe has been redesigned for 2014 and there’s a lot to get excited about.
There are two variations available, the Viper and Viper GTS. First on the list of thrill-inducing items is an unapologetically powerful 8.4-litre V10 that pumps out 640 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque.
This is a driver’s car, so the Viper comes exclusively with a six-speed manual. This fifth-generation Viper is about 45 kg lighter than the previous model. Stability control now includes a Rain mode so that the Viper behaves when the pavement gets wet.
For the true racetrack enthusiast there’s also a limited edition Viper TA, equipped with numerous handling upgrades. Order your TA now because only 159 will be produced. 2014 pricing has not yet been announced but current Viper models start starts at $99,995.
