If you’ve been paying attention you’ve noticed that café racers are in. BMW has noticed and 90 years after producing its first motorcycle, the German company introduces the BMW R nineT (sounding phonetically like R90, a model that was discontinued in the mid 1970s).
The R nineT is built around BMW’s venerable 1,170 cc air-cooled boxer twin, but what sets it apart from other bikes in BMW’s line up is that it was designed to be customised.
The passenger seat and rear subrame can be easily removed for a solo look, and the twin mufflers can be replaced by a custom, low or high-mounted system.
BMW has a small selection of accessories available to personalise the R nineT, but you can be sure the aftermarket will follow through with a huge selection of customising goodies.
The R nineT retails for $16,200, but how much you spend to personalise it is entirely up to you.
